The Western Visayas Local Urban Observatory (WV-LUO) addresses the urgent need to improve the regional database of urban knowledge by helping local governments and civil society to develop and track policy-oriented urban indicators, statistics and other urban information.
The WV-LUO supports city officials, citizens and businesses to determine how well their city or local government is achieving results that contribute to the MDGs, including higher employment, fewer people living in poverty, reduced air pollution, and improved quality of local services. Indicators will be chosen to reflect issues that matter locally. This is the first Regional Urban Observatory in the Philippines.
